Are you looking after yourself?
Your body undergoes many changes throughout pregnancy – physical and hormonal.
As the baby grows your pelvis needs to accommodate and change shape to create space for your baby. Sometimes this can put extra strain on the joints of your pelvis, your hips, your legs, your spine and rib cage and cause pain, sciatica, stiffness, swelling in your legs, indigestion, constipation and shortness of breath.
Your osteopath’s aim is to assist the natural process of pregnancy and birth – maximising your body’s ability to change and support you and your baby with a minimum of pain and discomfort.
Birthing and beyond…
Birth is a natural process that places tremendous strain on both mother and baby.
After the birth of your baby, your osteopath may advise you to make return visits to manage problems like pelvic and low back strain, pelvic floor weakness and incontinence.
